So once again I’ll implore you: Please, if you feel as I do and you haven’t done so already, please call your senator and representative and express your concerns about this bill.

UPDATE: While originally reporting that Perry’s ad had originally surpassed Rebecca Black’s “Friday” as the most disliked video in YouTube history, the Huffington Post has now corrected (with some disappointment, if I’m not mistaken) that Perry is still safely behind the Biebs by nearly a factor of 10 for that coveted title; still, as you can see, to get to where he did with the number of views that he had is pretty remarkable. On Oakland Tuesday night, I watched police in riot gear shoot tear gas and hurl flashbangs into a protest in Oakland that, by every account I've read, was peaceful aside from a very few isolated miscreants. Civil disobedience was met with disproportionate and potentially lethal force (lethal: as in, no, the tear gas itself won't kill you, but a canister bashing your head certainly can).
